The most exciting step is what’s to come: keeping beer bottles out of the waste stream for our seltzer and chicha! This prevents the need to truck in new glass from somewhere far away, and is a timely step to keeping money in the hands of local workers rather than on import fees, to distant (or foreign) manufacturers and to make good on what’s locally available. Especially since glass recycling isn’t readily available in some places on the Olympic Peninsula!

We’re run our first trial batch in March 2025. A fun run of “ma’am vs the machine” where we can invest in physical labor washing and sanitizing locally available upcyled beer bottles vs the industrial machine of buying glass on the global supply chain and trucking it in. Id rather pay people than the machine!
